Chrysanthos Provatas. Born in the village of Kavalouri on Corfu in 1869. He served as a parish priest in Brindisi, Italy, then as parish priest in Corfu, and later as Abbot of the Holy Monastery of Saint Nicholas Galatakis in Evia. On July 13, 1907, he was ordained Bishop of Chalkida and Karystia at the Metropolitan Church of Athens. He passed away in Chalkida on Friday, October 22, 1921, at 9 p.m., after a three-day illness.
