On Monday, February 16, 2026, at the Cultural-Spiritual Center of the Holy Metropolis of Chalkida, the 33rd Clergy Conference was held, under the presidency of our Reverend Shepherd, Metropolitan of Chalkida Mr. Chrysostomos, with the Most Reverend Bishop of Skopelos Mr. Nikodimos in attendance.
Immediately after the customary prayer, His Eminence Mr. Chrysostomos delivered an instructional lecture on Great Lent, explaining the key terms emphasized during this devotional period and how each clergyman should embrace them and transmit them to the faithful under their care. Referring to the regular performance of specific liturgies during this period as well as those throughout the year, he emphasized that in a world persistently immersed in evil and increasingly deformed by sin, the most important gift a priest can offer is frequent prayer and the sacred call of the church bell.
Later, His Eminence Mr. Chrysostomos analyzed in detail the Circular Note of the Holy Synod of the Church of Greece on the topic: "Regulations for the establishment and operation of privately owned Orthodox churches within the jurisdiction of the Holy Metropolises of the Church of Greece following Law 5224/2025."
The Conference concluded with clarifications on questions from the participating clergy and the elucidation of related pastoral and administrative issues.
Shortly before the end of the Conference, the attending clergy thanked His Eminence Mr. Chrysostomos for his diligent care and zeal in fostering, educating, and training the leaders of our local Church, which are the reasons for these gatherings.
