On Friday, February 6 and Saturday, February 7, 2026, the Andros Holy Monastery of the Dormition of the Theotokos Makrymalli in Psachna celebrated with splendor and ecclesiastical order Saint Parthenios, Bishop of Lampsacus, the miracle-worker, whose relic of the holy skull has been preserved for centuries in the Holy Monastery.

During the Great Festal Vespers on Friday, the Most Reverend Bishop of Skopelos, Mr. Nikodimos, presided and delivered the divine word, with the participation of Clergy and lay pilgrims from Evia and many other regions of our country.

During the night and until the early morning hours, a holy vigil was held, presided over by the preacher of the Holy Metropolis of Corinth and abbot of the Holy Monastery of Panagia "Pantoon Charas" in Kalentzio, Archimandrite Anthimos Papalexopoulos.

On the day of the feast, Saturday, February 7, 2026, the Most Reverend Bishop of Skopelos, Mr. Nikodimos, presided at Matins, and our Most Reverend Shepherd, Metropolitan of Chalkida, Mr. Chrysostomos, presided and delivered the divine word at the Hierarchical Concelebration, during which a large number of faithful received the Common Cup.

Also, before the dismissal, Metropolitan Chrysostomos blessed the kollyva offered for Saint Parthenios and subsequently performed the six-month memorial service for the late Metropolitan of Corinth, Kyr Dionysios.

During the celebration, the Mayor of Dirfyon-Messapion, Mr. Antonios Spyropoulos, and other elected officials attended, and a choir of chanters, under the direction of the professors of the Byzantine Music School of the Holy Metropolis of Chalkida, Archpriest Anargyros Stouraitis, Mr. Dimitrios Papavasileiou, and Kyriakos Stantzou, performed the Hymns of the Feast beautifully and faithfully in the Byzantine style.

On Saturday afternoon, during the Resurrection and post-feast Vespers, the Most Reverend Metropolitan of Chalkida presided, together with the Most Reverend Metropolitan of Karystia and Skyros, Mr. Seraphim, and the Most Reverend Bishop of Skopelos, Mr. Nikodimos, and performed the tonsure of the novice monk Sotirios Lekkas from Chalkida, a graduate of the School of Candidates Clergy in Athens, giving him the name Parthenios.

Didactic words were addressed to the new monk in turn by the Most Reverend Metropolitan of Chalkida, Mr. Chrysostomos, and the Most Reverend Metropolitan of Karystia, Mr. Seraphim.

All the sacred services were broadcast live by the Radio Station of the Holy Metropolis of Chalkida (97.7 fm).
